Technology has helped a lot in ensuring that our learning process and education do not come to a standstill. Our Schools our scrambling to provide online classes to students, which is managed through self-learning, asking students to participate in online resources provided by the school using their own servers as well as using the internet.



SECURITY DURING ONLINE CLASSES

No doubt, online learning has filled a lot of gaps and ensured us a continouos flow of information but it has also increased various cases of cyber threats. Therefore, we need to combat the cyber threats and unsure cyber security to enjoy our learning.

There are many different ways through which one can ensure security

SECURITY CONCERNS-

  1. DATA BREACHES- Data breach is a significant risk whether intentional or not. Even a well educated person could accidentally compromise sensitive information by clicking on a malicious link on their smartphone. It is therefore, advisable to follow some basic and important steps, i.e., being cautious when engaging in online activities; clicking only authentic and secured links.
  2. ACCOUNTS AND PASSWORDS- It should be noted that, changing of account passwords frequently also helps us to reduce the risk of threat. The password made should be uncommon and it should be made using unpredictable combinations.
  3. VPN- In case VPN is in use, be sure that the VPN itself is secure. An unscrupulous VPN can easily sell your information on the dark web.
  4. SOFTWARES- Safe video conferencing softwares should be used that works with strong encryption.
  5. CONNECTED ACCOUNTS- The teachers should invite only those members in the meeting that are connected to their account to ensure that no anonymous member enters.
WITH THE 'WORKING FROM HOME' BECOMING THE NEW NORM, WE SHOULD ALSO BE AWARE OF THE THREATS IN FRON OF US RELATED TO CUBER CRIME. WE SHOULD ALSO KNOW WAYS TO PREVENT SUCH THREATS AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, WE SHOULD SPREAD AWARENESS AS WELL.
